Pool Leak Detection in Tucson

Request help onlineRequest a callback

Tucson pools lose a lot of water to evaporation in summer, so a dropping water level doesn't automatically mean a leak. If you're refilling more than seems right, start with a bucket test, then call a leak specialist if the numbers don't add up.

Where leaks hide

LocationClues
Plumbing linesLoss mostly while the pump runs (return side) or while it's off (suction side), plus wet ground along the line
ShellVisible cracks, steady loss whether the pump is on or off
Light nicheLevel stops dropping around the light
SkimmerLevel stops mid-skimmer; separation between the skimmer and the deck
Equipment padDrips or puddles at the pump, filter or heater

Repair or replace?

Some leaks, like a skimmer throat or a light-niche conduit, can often be sealed. Underground plumbing leaks may need excavation to make a spot repair. Shell cracks may need patching or a larger resurfacing discussion. Ask the contractor to show you where the leak is and to explain the options.

FAQ

Can leaks be found without draining?

Usually, yes. Most leak detection is done with the pool full.

Does the pool drop more with the pump on or off?

Track it both ways, and tell the contractor what you find, since it narrows down whether the leak is on the pressure side or the suction side. Our bucket test guide shows how.

Is a leak urgent?

It wastes water and can wash out soil under the deck or equipment. Get it checked rather than refilling indefinitely.
